How to schedule Instagram posts with Creator Studio?
- Link your Instagram account in Business Manager. If you’ve already done that before, you can access it here: https://business.facebook.com/creatorstudio?tab=instagram_content_posts
- Click on “Create post” and choose whether you want to create an Instagram post or an IGTV post
- Create your post, add copy, creatives (upload or add them from your Facebook page), location, hashtags, and mentions/tags. You can also choose if you want to publish the same post on Facebook, write an alt text for your image, or turn off commenting. There are options for uploading more or cropping media.
- Choose whether to publish the post now, schedule it for later, or save it as a draft.
The process is rather straightforward, but if you want to schedule more Instagram posts and have full control of the process from A to Z, social media management tools will probably be a better choice for you.

How to schedule Instagram posts with Kontentino?
1. Select “Profiles” (you’ll find it under the cog in the main dashboard) and then click on “+New Profile”. Obviously, in this case, choose Instagram.
2. You’ll see a pop-up straight away that will ask you to connect to Facebook in order to link your Instagram Business profile. To set up an Instagram Business Profile previously you had to link it to your Facebook page, so Kontentino uses that exact same connection. This is the quickest way, but if you don’t want to do it at this point then you can create a profile manually and connect to it later. You can schedule single image and single video posts directly. The rest of the formats like stories, carousels and longer videos can be scheduled via Kontentino mobile app.
3. Once everything is configured, it’s time to create and schedule your Instagram posts properly. Choose your profile from the list in the Dashboard. We’ll show you all the bits and bobs on an example profile that is available for each Kontentino user so that they can play with the tool.
4. If you want to create and schedule a new post, choose “+NEW POST”.
5. Let’s get the (Instagram) party started.
Here’s the anatomy of the Instagram post scheduler in Kontentino:
- Content Plan: choose which content plan you want to attribute the post to. By default, it will be the one you accessed this step from.
- Post Text: nothing to add here 😉 simply write your copy then add hashtags, emojis, and mentions. A handy counter will tell you immediately how many spare characters you can use.
- Picture/Slideshow, Video, Story, IGTV: the types of posts you can schedule with Kontentino. For Stories and IGTV, you need to download the Kontentino mobile app.
- Template: you can choose your own template/frame with a logo that will be placed in one of four pre-made arrangements. No worries, the post won’t schedule automatically just yet.
- Date & Time: here’s where you set the specific date and time at which your Instagram post will go live.
- Boost budget: if you want to indicate how much money should go towards the promotion of a particular post, you can do so here.
- Labels: you can create predefined labels to better navigate through all of the Instagram posts that you’re scheduling.
- Notes: anything else you’d like yourself, your team, or your clients to know? Add non-standard requests, comments, or feedback here.
Once you fill in the fields of your interest, click on “Save” and you’ll move straight onto the second part of the scheduling process.
In this step, you’ll see the confirmation of all data that you added in the previous one as well as a few more features to boost your workflow.
- Post checklist: you can pre-define a few steps that must be completed before you publish an Instagram post. This can include adding a logo, using a few hashtags, spell checking, and whatever else you can think of.
- Assign task: you can assign tasks of any kind to a particular member of your team (as long as they are also Kontentino users)
- Send for approval: similarly to assigning a task, you can send content for quick approval (it takes just one click).
- Schedule: and we’re at the crème de la crème now – you can schedule your photos and videos directly from Kontentino if you toggle “Direct Publishing”. Otherwise, you’ll be required to approve each publication before it goes live upon receiving a push notification to your mobile device. In this step, you can also schedule posts or export them to Creator Studio.
Can you schedule Instagram stories and IGTV?
And this is why we mentioned exporting to Creator Studio.
We are unable to provide direct publishing of Instagram Stories, IGTV, or carousel formats through Kontentino as the Instagram API does not support them yet.
We have found a perfect workaround though.
IGTV, Instagram Stories, and carousels can be scheduled through the Kontentino app or our Creator Studio integration. Simply export your posts using these formats to Creator Studio and schedule them directly from there. Too much content will overwhelm your audience and push them away from following you in the first place. Too little content, though, will make your profile virtually disappear from their feeds. It’s all about finding the sweet spot.
