What’s new in Kontentino: September 2026 updates

September was a shipping month. The Instagram music library is now inside the Reels composer - the most requested Instagram feature in Kontentino's history - plus fully rebuilt @mentions, Post Workflows that schedule a post the moment a client approves it, and a real fix for the biggest cause of failed posts. All of it is live in your account right now.

Some release months are about polish. September wasn’t.

The Instagram music library landed in the Reels composer, @mentions were rebuilt end to end, the new approval workflows rolled out to every account, and the biggest cause of silently failed posts got a proper fix.

Here’s what changed, what it means for your day-to-day, and the caveats worth knowing before your next Reel goes out.

Instagram music is now in your Reels composer

No more scheduling a Reel in Kontentino, then opening the Instagram app at the last minute just to add a trending sound. Music now lives where your Reel does.

Pick Reel in the post composer and a new Add audio button appears. It opens Instagram’s own music library right inside Kontentino, so you can search tracks, filter by music or original audio, and pick your sound without leaving the draft.

Once you’ve chosen a track, a volume mixer shows up with two independent sliders – one for the added audio, one for the original video sound. Preview the Reel with the track applied, then schedule as usual.

The fine print: this is Reels only for now, so no Stories, carousels, or Facebook yet. Audio always starts from the beginning of the track, because Instagram’s API doesn’t expose a trim control. And Instagram decides which tracks are available, which means a track can occasionally be muted after publishing. We’d rather you know all that upfront.

@mentions, rebuilt end perfected

Tagging used to be the feature you worked around. Now it just works.

Type @ and at least three characters to tag Facebook Pages, LinkedIn companies, LinkedIn people who follow your page (when you’re posting as a company page), and any X account. Prefer links? Use the @ button in the editor toolbar to paste a Facebook Page link, a LinkedIn company link or name, or an Instagram or X handle directly.

The small fixes are the ones you’ll feel daily. “Coca Cola” and “Ben & Jerry’s” can be typed normally – the old underscore-instead-of-space workaround is gone. McDonald’s, Kellogg’s, and L’Oréal keep their apostrophes. LinkedIn people show their profile photo in the list, so you tag the right Anna on the first try. And when nothing shows up, the composer now tells you the actual reason – an expired connection, a missing permission, or a network that’s limiting searches – instead of leaving you guessing.

Post Workflows: client approves, post schedules itself

The rebuilt post statuses, approvals, and tasks are now live on every account. The headline feature is the one agencies have been describing to us for years.

Auto-schedule on client approval. Flip a per-page toggle, and the moment a client approves a post, it schedules itself. No more posts approved on Friday that sit unscheduled until someone remembers on Monday. (The toggle is admin-only for now, managers see it read-only.)

The rest of the rebuild is about trusting what you see. Status changes are validated before they happen, so a post can’t claim to be scheduled when it isn’t actually publishable. Approvals surface in the right conversation thread, with Approve and Rework buttons right there. Every status change lands in the activity log with who did it and when. And the composer warns you before you change the status of an already-published post or move a scheduled post into the past.

Bulk operations stopped being mysterious too. They now report exactly what succeeded and what failed, instead of a generic error.

Meta connections you don’t have to babysit

The most frustrating kind of failed post is the one that had nothing to do with your content – a Facebook or Instagram connection quietly expired in the background, and you only found out when the post didn’t go out. September’s rebuild makes that a thing of the past.

Kontentino now runs a daily two-stage health check on every Meta connection. It asks Meta directly whether your login is still valid and whether we can actually post to each specific page, because a token can look alive while the page behind it is disconnected. That deeper check catches the problems that used to hide until publish time.

And when something does need your attention, you’ll know before it touches your content. Warnings like “connection expiring soon” or “permissions downgraded” go to the page’s admins and managers plus the authors of any affected posts. The dashboard shows them with clear severity colors, and the calendar – where you actually work – flags the affected profile with a banner and a count of posts at risk.

So just to sum it up: your connections stay stable, and on the rare occasion one needs a refresh, you reconnect on your schedule instead of after a miss.
